WHAT IS IT?
Tunarr builds live TV channels out of your own media. You connect Plex, Jellyfin, Emby or local files, arrange a program lineup, and Tunarr streams it as a real linear channel that runs 24/7. It impersonates an HDHomeRun tuner, so Plex or any IPTV client can consume it as a regular TV source.
WHY IS IT INTERESTING?
- Multi-source: pulls Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and local files into the same channels, with search and filtering to build lineups.
- Visual lineup editor: drag-and-drop programming, filler content management, time-slot and random-slot scheduling.
- HDHomeRun spoofing + IPTV: seen as a hardware tuner by Plex, or exposed as M3U for Tivimate, UHF and other IPTV clients.
- Hardware-accelerated transcoding: NVENC, VAAPI, QuickSync and VideoToolbox, with several configurable transcode profiles.
- Per-channel settings: logos, audio and subtitle language preferences, automatic config backups.
USE CASES
- Recreate a continuous channel-surfing experience from a personal media library.
- Assemble themed channels mixing movies, episodes and music videos.
- Stream to IPTV clients like Tivimate or UHF from a self-hosted server.
- Surface your media as a live TV source straight inside the Plex interface.
